Abstraction versus Realism

In the world of Realism when doing a portrait, the public insists, it must look like him.  In the world of Abstraction, there are no ART POLICE to tell you what you can or  cannot make.  Most of the contemporary artist are somewhere in the middle on this situation. I think it probably depends more so on the type of artwork which you are painting!!

   I am a big Star Trek Fan of the original Series. I once drew and painted a picture of Grace Lee Whitney(Yeoman Rand) and presented it to her at a Star Trek Convention.  She autographed it for me at the Convention.
   I used to admire Mr. Spock's cool and calm way of handling problems. I loved the way he interacted both with Captain Kirk, and Doctor Mcoy. Mr. Spock showed an amazing amount of logic and intelligence in handling in almost every situation.

Nat's Sports Summary

Here is my sports summary: In Hockey I like the Rangers chances in this strike shortened season. Lundquest is a great goalie.  I am writing the Mets off as usual. The Yankees are also competitive and I think Youkelis is a great sign for them. The Jets also aggravate me all the time, but I think they really screwed up Sanchez. They should definitely get rid of Tim Tebow, or they should give him a real chance.
   The knicks are interesting, but I think that Melo cannot be the whole team!
