I do not like horror movies for one simple reason. The victims never have a way to win. Every time you watch a horror movie you know that most of the people in the movie are going to die horribly. It is similar to Captain Kirk facing the no win scenario. He doesn't believe in a situation where he cannot save the day.
I know that bad things happen in life, but I like the idea that one should have at least a fighting chance to win. Horror movies rarely allow for that to happen.
